ZESCO United are in the hunt for only five points to be crowned 2020/2021 FAZ/MTN Super League champions elect.
It has been a remarkable season for the former league champions who have opened an eight-point gap at the summit of the league table and only need five points to claim their ninth league title.
Newly signed striker, Chitiya Mususu hopes to reignite his career having spent some time abroad.
Barley three months at the club, the skillful striker has already scored his first goal for ZESCO United having featured in a handful of games.
“It was a relief as I said when I came here that there will be a lot of critiques who will try to bring me down. I am here to prove them wrong and add value to the team.
I am overwhelmed that have opened my scoring account at the club and hoping to score more,” Mususu said.
Mususu is delighted to be back in action after a long spell without competitive football.
“It is a good feeling to be back and playing. I stayed for a long time without playing competitive football. It feels good to be back playing soccer because this is what we love.”
Meanwhile Mususu has thanked ZESCO United players for making his life easy at the club.
“It is a fantastic experience for me because ZESCO United is at the top of the league table and players are of a good quality. It will be a good opportunity to learn new things and develop more as a player.
I have been welcomed very well at the club and some of the lads here are my former teammates whom I played with at the national team. It has been easy for me to adjust.”
Mususu will be hoping that he recovers quickly ahead of the Kitwe United fixture after sustaining an ankle injury in ZESCO United’s defeat at the hands of Prison Leopards on Wednesday.
