Atlasmara Bank Acting Chief Executive Officer Bobbline Chembeela has urged ZESCO United players to prudently manage their resources.
Speaking on Friday last week during the financial literacy workshop held in Ndola targeting ZESCO United players, Cheembela expressed happiness with the sustained relationship between the bank and the club.
“Through our collaboration, we have successfully promoted our brands via sports and corporate social responsibility programs across the nation. Moreover, we are committed to expanding our impact by introducing financial literacy programs that will empower individuals and communities to make informed financial decisions.
As one of Zambia’s leading digital banks, Atlas Mara is committed to providing financial services to customers of all income levels. We believe that financial literacy is a vital component of financial inclusion,” he said.
Meanwhile, United Chief Executive Officer, Charles Kalala commended the Bank for finding time to educate club players on the significance of investing prudently.
“Firstly, we value our partnership with your bank and we greatly appreciate the sponsorship extended to the club. Financial literacy is critical to everyone working at this club especially the players whose careers are normally limited.
As such these workshops will go a long way in ensuring that our players have the knowledge on how to manage their money and avoid becoming destitute at the end of their journey,” Kalala said.
And United defensive midfielder Donashano Malama says the workshop was crucial for players as they plan for life after football.
“The knowledge gained here will help us plan better and responsibly. It also shows that the club doesn’t only care about getting results but also wants to ensure that our lives are secured even way after football.”
