Zambian league champions, ZESCO United will tomorrow face-off against Green Eagles in the MTN Super League week 10 encounter scheduled for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.
Club Head Coach, Numba Mumamba will be hoping his side find their winning formula after recently playing to a 1-all draw against Green Buffaloes and Konkola Blades.
Mumamba’s side has been bolstered by the return of most of his dependable senior players who have recently sat out due to various injuries.
The ZESCO United gaffer has confirmed the return of first choice goalkeeper Ian Otieno who suffered a knee injury during the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, last month.
Veteran striker Winstone Kalengo is also expected to bounce back in ZESCO United’s starting eleven that face the Zambia National Service sponsored side.
In addition to Kalengo and Otieno’s return, Mumamba has confirmed the return of Simone Silwimba who also suffered an injury during the coveted Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
On the flip side, Mumamba will miss the services of dependable defensive midfielder, Dickson Chapa who is currently serving a two-match ban after receiving a straight red card during ZESCO United’s game against Green Buffaloes.
ZESCO United exciting winger, Edward Lungu has just returned to full training after an illness.
Zimbabwean International midfielder, Tafadzwa Rusike will also miss tomorrow’s game after suffering a knee injury in yesterdays training session while Adrian Chama has continued his light training following an injury suffered a month ago.
Mumamba has further confirmed the absence of exciting Zambian international and Green Eagles attacking midfielder Spencer Sautu due to contractual obligations.
Team Ya Ziko fans will be delighted to welcome Otieno whose shoes have been well covered by Zambian international and ZESCO United second choice goalkeeper, Gregory Sanjase.
At the back, Mumamba will be spoiled for choice with the availability of Clement Mwape, Simone Silwimba, Solomon Sakala, Fackson Kapumbu, John Chishimba, Samson Mkandawire and Willard Nkausu.
The absence of Tafadzwa Rusike, Dickson Chapa, and Spencer Sautu will mean that the gaffer will have to look at Chanda Mukuka, John Chinga’ndu, Logic Ching’andu, Donashano Malama and Thabani Kamusoko to provide the brains moving forward.
The hosts will be praying that Jesse Jackson Were, Chitiya Mususu, Enock Sakala Jnr and Winstone Kalengo deliver the much-needed goals in tomorrow’s mouthwatering encounter.
ZESCO United will be aiming to collect maximum points when they meet Green Eagles in what is expected to be one of the crunching fixtures of the weekend.
