“WE WILL GO FOR THE KILL” MUMAMBA SPEAKS AHEAD OF BUILDCON ENCOUNTER

ZESCO United coach Numba Mumamba doesn’t expect anything less than a victory when his charges face Buildcon Football Club in the FAZ/MTN Super League clash scheduled for tomorrow at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.

Mumamba intends to inflict damage on Buildcon following his sides 1-0 defeat against relegation threatened Young Green Eagles.

“We are targeting an outright victory against Buildcon especially that we dropped points at Eagles. Our plan is to ensure that we unsettle them for the onset and get the necessary goals.

The morale in camp is very high. We had a good discussion with our players after the Eagles defeat. We have psyched them to put the recent defeat behind them and to ensure that we respond by beating Buildcon,” Mumamba said.

ZESCO United have received a major boost from players who were both out on CHAN duties and those who were nursing injuries.

“We have received a major boost from Makwata who was down with an illness. He is back in full training and ready for selection. Otieno is also back from suspension.

Winston Kalengo is recovering from a slight injury but we are positive he will be ready for Saturday’s game. Simon Silwimba was equally out after the Nkwazi game with an injury but he is back and he will be in contention for a place. The return of these players is extra motivation for our young players.”

Mumamba will unfortunately be without the enterprising Bruce Musakanya and Fackson Kapumbu.

Musakanya is recovering from a muscle injury while Kapumbu is down with Malaria.

“Bruce is still out with an injury. We have given him a special program. He is currently doing light training which includes a regular schedule at the gym. We are hopeful he will be back with us soon. We will unfortunately also miss the services of Kapumbu who tested positive for Malaria. He is currently on bed rest,” Mumamba disclosed.

Mumamba doesn’t expect his charges to underrate Buildcon especially that the former has had a good run in the course of the season.

“They are playing some good football and have had a good run of form since the league started. However, it is crucial for us to get maximum points so that we could move up the ladder.”

ZESCO United will this Saturday host Buildcon Football Club in the FAZ/MTN Super League week 17 encounter scheduled for Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.
