ZESCO UNITED BEAT NEELKHANT LIME FC IN FRIENDLY

FAZ/MTN Super League giants, ZESCO United today beat Ndola based division two promoted side Neelkhant Football Club 8-0 in a pre-season friendly game played at Ndola’s Trade Fair Grounds.

ZESCO United resumed their pre-season training last week ahead of the 2020/2021 FAZ/MTN Super League season.

Coach George Lwandamina used the friendly as part of his pre-season program and also to assess his squad which has been beefed up with the likes of Kelvin Kampamba, Bruce Musakanya, and Lazarus Phiri.

The match was equally a litmus test for six of the young players who have since graduated from the club’s developmental teams.

The eight-times super league giants proved too mouthful for Neelkhant Lime with Jesse Were, Kelvin Kampamba, John Makwata, Bruce Musakanya each scoring a goal in the first half of the game.

The second half was even more devastating for the newly promoted division two side. Makwata proved too versatile for Neelkhant defenders scoring a brace in the second half to complete a hat-trick in the process.

Kampamba scored his second goal in the second half before Logic Ching’andu got the eighth goal to complete what was arguably a walk in the park for TeamYaziko.

ZESCO United are earmarked to shift base to Mongu, Western Province where the team will continue with its pre-season preparations.
