MUMAMBA PLOTS AHEAD OF LOCAL DERBY

ZESCO United will tomorrow host their town rivals Forest Rangers in what promises to be an explosive encounter in the FAZ/MTN Super League week 2 fixture scheduled for Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Ndola.

This will be an affair of mixed emotions for the eight times FAZ/MTN Super League champions, ZESCO United who lost their bragging rights after seeing their place of representing the country at the elite level of the African game (CAF Champions League) taken over by their town rivals.

Forest Rangers will come into this fixture buoyed by the fact that they beat ZESCO United 0-1 last season in a week 16 fixture played at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.

They will further be encouraged by the fact that they beat 2019/2020 Super League Champions Nkana 2-0 in their opening fixture.

However, the new look ZESCO United under the tutelage of coach Numba Mumamba will be gunning for maximum points when the two teams clash.

Despite failing to collect maximum points against Napsa Stars, ZESCO United will be encouraged by their performance which saw them score three goals with two dubiously disallowed.

Mumamba’s side will be aiming to overwhelm their opponents with pressing and counter attacking football which proved too mouthful for Napsa Stars.

The gaffer will be tempted to deploy the same side that overwhelmed Napsa Stars with, Winston Kalengo and Jesse Were leading the front line.

In the middle of the park, Logic Ching’andu will be hoping to shine once again while Samuel Sikaonga will be dying to get on the team sheet having made his first senior debut against Napsa Stars.

Kelvin Kampamba and the ever enterprising Bruce Musakanya will be expected to overwhelm Forest Rangers defenders with their slalom movements that proved quite devastating for Napsa Stars.

At the back, Clement Mwape, Simone Silwimba, Adrian Chama and Mwila Phiri will be expected to protect Ian Otieno by shutting the door from any possible threats that Forest Rangers will attempt to mount.

ZESCO United coach Numba Mumamba will be expecting his charges to collect maximum points having drawn 1-all against Napsa Stars in their opening fixture.
