ZESCO UNITED FANS CELEBRATE RETURN TO STADIA

This week the FAZ/MTN Super League returns to action with eight-times Super League champions ZESCO United scheduled to clash against Kabwe Warriors in a week 4 fixture scheduled for Saturday at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.

Saturday’s fixtures will mark the return of fans in the stadia following government’s decision to sanction the Football Association of Zambia(FAZ) to allow football supporters to watch the ongoing 2020/2021 super league games.

FAZ General Secretary, Adrian Kashala said FAZ was happy that the Ministry of Sports has given FAZ permission to allow fans for league matches with strict adherence to Covid-19 guidelines.

“The Ministry of Sports has allowed us to admit fans for league matches. We urge our members to adhere to strict Covid-19 guidelines as provided the protocols,” he said.

ZESCO United supporters like other super league followers will be yearning to watch their star players when they take on Kabwe warriors on Saturday.

“I wish to thank the Zambian government for sanctioning FAZ to allow us to watch the games from our stadium. It has been quite hard to follow the matches behind the scenes.

We want to be part of the action. I am happy that the authorities have heard our cries. We will come in numbers to rally behind our boys,” ZESCO United Ndola based supporter, Micheelo Habuluma said.

Florence Chabinda is another die-hard supporter of the former league champions. Chabinda like Micheelo can’t wait to see her star-players in action.

“This is the best news for every soccer fan. I am one of the ardent followers of this great football club. I go wherever they go and I can’t wait to travel with them again.

I can’t wait to connect with the other ZESCO United fans. Our players should expect a fantastic atmosphere this Saturday. With more support, I am sure we will return the title.”

Muhammad Saidi, has appealed to supporters to follow COVID-19 guidelines as stipulated by the Ministry of Health.

The ZESCO United Ndola based supporter, can’t wait to witness another victory for the Ndola based Zambian super league giants.

“I am extremely excited with this development. Government has made a very good decision. However, it is important that we follow health guidelines especially that the pandemic is still among us.

I can’t wait to see my favourite players and team in action. We didn’t do well last season but am positive this is the time for us to overturn last year’s misfortunes.”
