ZESCO United attacking midfielder, Kelvin Kampamba says there is need for the team to maintain its recent winning run if they are to win the FAZ/MTN Super League title.
Speaking ahead of this afternoon’s league showdown against Zanaco Football club, Kampamba expressed delight with the level of competition in the team.
“Our target was to win all our first five games. Unfortunately, that didn’t go according to plan. I am happy that we have started getting results that we initially wanted.
There is massive competition in this squad because everyone wants to win the league for this great club and play continental football next season,” Kampamba said.
Meanwhile the in form midfielder has predicted a tough encounter when the former league champions meet Zanaco this afternoon at the sunset stadium, Lusaka.
“ZESCO United and Zanaco are both big teams in our league. You expect a tough encounter whenever the two meet.
We are geared for this game because these are games that any player wants to feature in and play their lungs out. It is important for us to continue on this great winning run.”
Kampamba is further enlivened by the two goals he scored against Kabwe Warriors: “I am extremely happy to have scored two goals for my new club. It is an important moment for any player who has just joined a new club. I will continue working very hard to ensure that the team is successful.”
