ZESCO UNITED AIM TO LOADSHED PRISONS

FAZ/MTN Super League giants ZESCO United will tomorrow host Prison Leopards in an early kick off (13:00) league encounter scheduled for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.

ZESCO United will be oozing with confidence after recording a 0-1 victory against Kitwe United in a mid-week league encounter played at Garden Park stadium, Kitwe.

Victory against Kitwe United saw the former league champions move 8 places to occupy second position on the log table with 11 points apiece with current league leaders Zanaco Football club.

ZESCO United head coach, Numba Mumamba will be expecting his charges to maintain their winning run which was halted after a 3-1 defeat to Zanaco and a 1-all draw against Green Buffaloes.

Mumamba’s biggest nightmare has so far been his striking force which continues on its goal shy trajectory.

The addition of 19-year-old Enock Sakala to the squad has yielded dividends for Mumamba and the team.

Sakala has thus far scored two goals from three games he has thus far played. Mumamba will be expecting him to remain focused and level headed as he works towards establishing himself in the ZESCO United squad.

“The young lad has proved to be reliable for the team. I think we need to continue to encourage and counsel him. He has the potential to play the game from what he has so far exhibited from the few games that he has played. He deserves to be in the team,” Mumamba said after ZESCO United’s victory against Kitwe United.

The ZESCO United gaffer may be tempted to make a few adjustments to the squad that beat Kitwe United especially that the team is expected to face Red Arrows in a midweek fixture slated for Nkoloma stadium on Wednesday next week.

Meanwhile Prison Leopards will be aiming to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself by losing to Indeni and ZESCO United in a space of three weeks in the same venue.

Leopards will be hoping to cause an upset when they meet the eight times league champions in tomorrow’s week eight encounter.
