The Zambia National team begin their quest to win the 2021 Cameroun Championship of African Nations (CHAN) with a mouth-watering fixture against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania on January 19, 2021.
Zambia shares Group D with Tanzania, Namibia and Guinea.
The quest to be among the best players to represent Mother Zambia at arguably the continents second biggest tournament, attracted a great deal of competition among the country’s talented local players.
Chipolopolo coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has summoned a 32-member squad that will be expected to deliver for the country when the tournament kicks-off on Saturday next week.
Sredojevic has assembled some of the nation’s finest local players including 5 from ZESCO United.
Clement Mwape , Fackson Kapumbu, Kelvin Kampamba, Bruce Musakanya, Adrian Chama have all answered the call of duty.
ZESCO United may not restart their league campaign owing to the unavailability of the five dependable players.
However, ZESCO United coach, Numba Mumamba will be watching the tournament closely with a bias towards his players.
As the national team continues to shape-up for the tournament, Sredojevic will be counting on Kelvin Kampamba and Bruce Musakanya to lit up the Chipolopolo front line.
Clement Mwape, Adrian Chama and Fackson Kapumbu will be expected to be the bedrock of the team.
The Zambia National team takes on Tanzania on January 19, 2020 in their opening Group D game scheduled for Limbe stadium, Cameroun.
