Former National team goalkeeper, Toaster Nsabata is looking forward to rekindling his career at ZESCO United Football Club.
Nsabata has described his move to the former league champions as another big milestone in his career as a goalkeeper.
“Firstly I am grateful to God for giving me another chance to join another big club in the country. Very few people get such opportunities of playing for a big club like ZESCO United. I will give my best to the team whenever I will be offered a chance to play,” Nsabata said.
The former Zanaco Football Club shot stopper has his eyes fixed on bring competition between the ZESCO United sticks.
“I am a very ambitious person who has played football at the national team and also for Zanaco. As such I need to bring competition and the necessary experience to this great club. The club and supporters also expects a lot from me, especially that they are used to winning titles.”
Nsabata hopes to use his move to ZESCO United to reignite his chances of returning his place at the National team.
“When you play for a big club like ZESCO United, expect yourself to be in the spotlight. Coming here gives me a great opportunity to return my position at the senior national team. However, I will need to work extra hard by performing very well here,” he said.
The 27-year old goalkeeper has re-united with former Zanaco and now ZESCO United head coach Numba Mumamba.
Mumamba has expressed confidence that Nsabata will bring competition at the club after signing a 3-year contract.
“I must say he will bring very good competition to Ian Otieno being a national team goalkeeper. He is one of the best local goalkeepers we have in the country that is why we thought of bringing him here when we heard that he wasn’t renewing his contract at Zanaco.
He will help us especially that we are not only looking at the league but also continental football. It is a plus to have two senior goalkeepers especially that we are competing in the league and also targeting a return in continental competitions,” Mumamba said.
Nsabata is expected to provide perfect cover for Ntibahezwa Deioudonne who left the club this month.
