Chipolopolo midfielder, Spencer Sautu came from the bench to score a vital equalizing goal for Zambia during yesterday’s 2021 CHAN Group D encounter against Guinea Conakry.
Zambia drew 1-all against the Syli National in an explosive encounter played in Cameroon’s Limbe stadium on Saturday evening.
Victor Kantabadouno’s put Guinea ahead with a well taken goal beating Chipolopolo goalkeeper, Allan Chibwe in the 56’ minutes.
Power Dynamos midfielder, Spencer Sautu levelled matters for Zambia with an 87’ excellent header leaving the Syli National goalkeeper rooted on his line.
Yesterday’s draw meant that Zambia has 4 points apiece with Group D leaders Guinea from two games.
Zambia’s draw against Guinea was at the back of some good performances from ZESCO United’s players.
Kelvin Kampamba, Adrian Chama, Bruce Musakanya, Clement Mwape all played a significant part in encounter.
Chama, Mwape and Kampamba marshalled Zambia’s backline whilst Kampamba was deployed in the midfield before giving way for Zanaco’s Moses Phiri.
Bruce Musakanya got his first taste of the competition in the 72’ minute when he came on for club teammate Clement Mwape.
Zambia will face Namibia on Wednesday at Limbe Stadium while Guinea will be up against Tanzania in Douala in the final matches that will decide top two teams that will qualify to the quarterfinals.
Guinea and Zambia have 4 points while Tanzania is 3rd with 3 points with Namibia bottom on zero points.
The Chipolopolo beat Tanzania 2-0 in the opening game before drawing 1-1 with Guinea on Saturday and will conclude with a clash with Namibia.
