EAGLES DEFEAT STILL IRKING: CAN ZESCO UNITED RAISE THE BAR AGAINST BUILDCON?

Zambian Super League giants ZESCO United will this Saturday clash against Buildcon Football Club in what is expected to be a mouthwatering derby encounter for both teams.

ZESCO United will be gunning for some redemption in the wake of a painful 1-0 defeat to league minnows Young Green Eagles last Saturday.

Defeat to Young Green Eagles saw the eight times league champions drop to sixth position on the log table with 25 points.

Coach Numba Mumamba bemoaned his sides’ inconsistencies a feat that he claimed could be a big challenge to the sides title hopes.

“We are lacking consistency which is a big worry to everyone at the club. Our aim is to win the league title. However, this can only be attained if we could be consistent in stringing positive results.”

Mumamba will be buoyed by the retain of four of his key members of the squad who were recently out due to CHAN commitments.

Clement Mwape, Adrian Chama, Kelvin Kampamba where all immediately fused into the side that faced a resilient Young Eagles side unfortunately their presence could not thwart a defeat or catapult ZESCO United to  victory.

Bruce Musakanya was left out due to a muscle injury incurred at the CHAN tournament.

The game against Buildcon is crucial to ZESCO United’s hopes of the returning to the summit of the league table.

Mumamba will be tempted to assemble a very strong side when the Ndola based league giants face Buildcon.

The ZESCO United gaffer will probably be swayed to add some youthful flavor to his first XI after impressing in the second half of the Young Green Eagles defeat.

Buildcon on the other end will be dying to cause another upset after humbling Power Dynamos, and also recently defeated Nkana Football Club.

The stage is set for another perfect FAZ/MTN Super League mouthwatering derby.
