SUPER SUB SAKALA RELISHING TO SCORE 10

Teenage sensation, Enock Sakala is targeting to score at least 10 goals before the 2020/2021 FAZ/MTN Super League season come to a close.

The ZESCO United goal poacher has been impressive for the 8 times Super League champions scoring 4 crucial goals thus far in his debut season.

Sakala has proved a deadly finisher and savior for ZESCO United scoring twice in the team’s last two matches against Buildcon and Power Dynamos respectively.

With ZESCO United leading 2-1, the 19-year-old striker, came off the bench to put the game beyond the visitors, scoring his club’s 3rd goal of the game with a brilliant chip to put the ball beyond Buildcons goalkeeper, Njana.

Similarly against Power Dynamos, Mumamba’s last hope rested on the shoulders of young Sakala to secure victory for the Ndola based league giants.

In the 67minute, Sakala was brought on as replacement for Kenyan international striker Jackson Were.

It took the lad only 6’ minutes to unlock the Power Dynamos defense with an excellent tap in after being put through by the ever enterprising Winston Kalengo.

Sakala’s winning goal ensured that ZESCO United ascended to the top of the league table.

“These two victories gives us enough confidence as we face other teams in our next encounters. This brings a lot of morale in the team. However, we are also trying hard to ensure that results are consistent,’ Sakala said.

Meanwhile the 19-year-old goal poacher is not perturbed by being a substitute for the team saying it gives him a good understanding of the game.

“I think it is a great thing for me at this stage of my game. I am still learning a lot of things from everyone. I have scored good goals after coming on as a substitute because normally I get to read the game before coming on which I would say is an advantage.

It gives me an opportunity to see where our opponents are leaving spaces for me to exploit.”

Sakala has now bagged 4 goals and he is hopeful of getting 10 goals before the end of the season: “I have scored 4 goals so far. However, my dream is to at least reach 10 at the close of the season.”
