ZESCO UNITED STARS IN AFCON ACTION

ZESCO United Football Club will this week see the majority of its star players join their respective National teams ahead of the Cameroon 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.

Club defenders, Clement Mwape, Adrian Chama have both joined the Zambia National team as Chipolopolo coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic plots to shoot down the Desert Foxes of Algeria in a crucial encounter scheduled for National Heroes stadium on Thursday night.

Sredojevic has summoned 33 players for the back-to-back Cameroon 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria and Zimbabwe.

Algeria tops Group H with 10 points while Zimbabwe occupy second position with five points.

Botswana are in third position with four points while Zambia has three points and sit on fourth position.

Meanwhile ZESCO United and Kenyan international goalkeeper, Ian Otieno and Zimbabwean midfielders, Tafadzwa Rusike and Thabani Kamusoko are also expected to feature for their respective National teams.

Otieno will be fighting for a place in the Kenyan first eleven when the Harambe Stars host the Pharaohs of Egypt on Thursday before travelling to Togo for their last qualifying game scheduled for Monday 29, 2021.

Kamusoko and Tafadzwa will both join the Zimbabwean side that will be away to Botswana on Thursday for their Group H crucial encounter before hosting Zambia on Monday 29 in the last game of the qualifiers.
