ZESCO United head coach Numba Mumamba has declared his charges ready for tomorrow’s 2021 Absa Cup final against Lusaka Dynamos scheduled for the MTN Woodlands stadium in Lusaka.
The defending champions will be gunning for their seventh league cup title provided they sail past the Wedson Nyirenda tutored Dynamos.
“Firstly, I am very excited to get to the Absa Cup final with ZESCO United in my debut season with the team. I am proud of what the players have thus far done.
There has been a lot of commitment from everyone in the team because they want to win the title. We just need to apply ourselves very well; I am sure we will win the title,” Mumamba said.
ZESCO United will be without exciting attacking and defending midfielders, Thabani Kamusoko and Donashano Malalama respectively. Logic Ching’andu is also out with a slight injury.
“Kamusoko is still recovering but we expect him to be back soon while Malama is on light training. Logic Ching’andu has been complaining of pain in his toe as such he has been excused so that he could recover.”
Meanwhile Mumamba expects an explosive final when his side meet Lusaka Dynamos on Saturday.
“Lusaka Dynamos are equally a big team. They have shown that over the years and in the recent past. They have had good results in the league and Absa Cup. As such we are expecting a tough final. We just need to apply ourselves very well in order to beat them and win the title,” he concluded.
