ZESCO United coach, Numba Mumamba expects a tough game when his side come up against Indeni Football Club in the FAZ/MTN Super league week 27 fixture to be played at Indeni Sports Complex in Ndola.
Mumamba expects Indeni to put up a spirited performance when the latter faces ZESCO United at home.
“We expect a tough game against Indeni. They have been performing well especially at home in the recent past. We will need to work extra hard if we are to walk away with maximum points. Indeni have shown that they are no pushovers especially against big teams” he said.
ZESCO United will be without veteran striker Winstone Kalengo, Solomon Sakala, Tafadzwa Rusike and Jesse Were due to injuries.
“The games have been coming thick and fast as such the players have started picking up knocks. Winstone, Were, Silwimba, Sakala, and Rusike picked up knocks in Wednesday’s game.
We can’t take risks especially that we are going to play from a venue where the pitch is a bit challenging. We have decided to rest them so that they recover on time for the Wednesday game against Green Eagles,” Mumamba disclosed.
Meanwhile Mumamba has challenged the players selected for tomorrows encounter to prove their worth to the club and supporters.
“It is time for others to come in and show that they can play just like their friends who are injured. They have all been working hard in training which is crucial for us.
They have an opportunity to prove to ZESCO United fans that they are just as talented as their colleagues and can help the team continue winning games.”
ZESCO United will be hoping to stretch their winning run to nine games after beating Red Arrows 2-1 in a midweek encounter played at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
