KAMPAMBA TO MISS POWER CLASH

ZESCO United attacking midfielder, Kelvin Kampamba has been ruled out of tomorrows FAZ/MTN Super league week 31 titanic clash between the league leaders and Power Dynamos.

Kampamba sustained a knee injury after colliding with Nkana goalkeeper Kelvin Malunga in ZESCO United’s 0-1 defeat at the hands of the Wusakile Boys.

The league leaders will be hoping to recover from Wednesday’s defeat which ended ZESCO United’s 10 consecutive league victories.

ZESCO United coach Numba Mumamba has urged his players to beat Power Dynamos in order to maintain the 6 points difference between themselves and second placed Zanaco Football Club.

“This game is important to us because we need the three points so that we maintain the 6 points gap between ourselves and Zanaco. We know we are playing Power Dynamos; a team that has lost two consecutive league games which I think makes the game very tricky.

We have prepared our team for this game. We only hope they will rise to the occasion and give us the victory that we need,” Mumamba said.

The ZESCO United technical bench have had a space of two days to mentally reassert their players following Wednesday’s defeat.

“A lose is always painful to players and it was the case for our boys. It is now our responsibility to ensure that we lift their spirits. This is a crucial game as such we need  to be at our best because Power Dynamos are a good side.”

Mumamba’s side has been plagued by injuries which will see the gaffer revert to other player selection options.

“Kalengo is out but we are hoping he is back for the Lusaka Dynamos game. Kelvin Kampamba is out following an injury sustained during the Nkana game. Tafadzwa will also miss due to an illness while Mwila Phiri is also out with an injury.”

ZESCO United will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways following Wednesday’s defeat after enjoying superiority over 10 league fixtures.
