SUPER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS ELECT FACE GREEN EAGLES

The champions are back! This afternoon ZESCO United host Green Eagles in the FAZ/MTN week 29 rescheduled fixture slated for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.

ZESCO United will be in no mood to spoil the victory parties that percolated through the beautiful and friendly city of Ndola when the hosts were crowned 2020/21 Zambian Super League champions elect following their 2-0 victory against Napsa Stars.

Today, coach Numba Mumamba will be tempted to go with the same starting XI that proved too mouthful for the pensioners when ZESCO United face Green Eagles this afternoon.

Toaster Nsabata is expected to maintain his place between the sticks with Kenyan international goalkeeper, Ian Otieno still working on his match fitness after sustaining a leg injury.

At the back, Adrian Chama, Solomon Sakala and John Chishimba will be expected to protect Nsabata from any possible threats from Green Eagles.

Donashano Malama is expected to replace Simone Silwimba and provide the much needed support to the back three.

In the middle of the park, Thabani Kamusoko, John Ching’andu and Samuel Sikaonga will be expected to deliver those crisp passes to ZESCO United’s front three.

This season, ZESCO United have been ruthless going forward with Kelvin Kampamba discharging some of the finest goals of the season for the champions elect.

Jesse Were and veteran Winstone Kalengo will be expected to combine with Kampamba and deliver goals for the super league leaders.

With the league title already in their bag, the ZESCO United technical bench will also be hoping to use this game to try out players who haven’t enjoyed enough game time since the start of the campaign.

The last three games may also be a litmus test for some players to prove that they deserve to remain at ZESCO United beyond the 2020/2021 league season.

Meanwhile Green Eagles will have everything to play for especially that there is a big possibility of them finishing in the top six.

ZESCO United will this afternoon take on Green Eagles before hosting Young Green Eagles on Sunday in another FAZ/MTN rescheduled fixture to be staged at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.
