Last Sunday, ZESCO United Football Club were officially crowned Zambian Super League champions for the ninth time.
The champions cantered away with the prestigious league title after amassing 71 points opening a 16-point gap between themselves and Zanaco who finished second.
This league triumph activated the club’s old tradition of awarding deserving players with various accolades.
On Sunday night, ZESCO United Football Club in partnership with AtlasMara bank awarded six club players for their outstanding performances during the entire league season at an award gala ceremony held at Ndola’s Protea Hotel.
ZESCO United Midfielder, John Ching’andu walked away with the Players’ player of the Year award while Adrian Chama won the Player of the Year prize.
Kenyan international goalkeeper, Ian Otieno was voted most consistent player with his fellow countryman, Jesse Jackson Were grabbing the Top Scorer of the Year honor.
Veteran Zimbabwean international midfielder, Thabani Kamusoko won the Most disciplined player award while the Young Player of the Year prize went to Chanda Mukuka.
And speaking on behalf of Atlas Mara Bank Chief Executive Officer, Bank Corporate Communication and Marketing Manager, Eric Ngondo said the Bank is pleased to have partnered with ZESCO United Football Club.

Meanwhile ZESCO United Football Club Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Richard Kabwe Mulenga congratulated the players, technical bench for winning the 2020/21 league season.
Mulenga said the club’s nine-times league triumph was in line with the institutions of ethos of hard work and excellency.
The Club CEO challenged the players to work hard in the next league seasons and CAF interclub competitions.
And speaking on behalf of club players, ZESCO United striker Jesse Were thanked the sponsors for supporting the team throughout the season.
