ZESCO United Head coach Numba Mumamba has urged his charges to make the Levy Mwanawasa stadium a ‘slaughter’ house for their opponents.
Mumamba’s comments comes in the wake of Saturday’s 1-0 win against Nkwazi in the MTN Super League week 16 fixture played at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.
ZESCO United’s hopes of defending the league title have been reinvigorated by the recent back-to-back victories against Lusaka Dynamos and Nkwazi respectively.
“We need to take advantage of the games that we are playing at home by collecting maximum points. Its hard to get results on the road that is the more reason we need to be consistent at home.
“The back-to-back victories in a week are a morale booster for us and a great motivation for our players as we prepare for the game against Red Arrows. This victory will enhance our confidence moving forward. We need to be consistent as a team if we are to get results that will ensure that we win the title once again,” Mumamba added.
The Ndola based league giants currently occupy 4th position on the league table with 24 points having played 14 games whilst league leaders, Green Buffaloes have 30 points having played 16 games.
Victory against Red Arrows will see ZESCO United move neck-to-neck with second placed Green Eagles who have thus far played two games better than the league champions.
ZESCO United will this Wednesday host Red Arrows at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium in the MTN Super League week 1 rescheduled fixture.
