ZESCO United striker, Pedro Miguel says his mission is to help the club stabilize by scoring goals.
Miguel scored his first goal for the league defending champions in Sunday’s MTN week 19 victory against Kabwe Warriors.
ZESCO United beat Kabwe Warriors 1-0 at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, a result that saw the league giants move to 3rd position on the league table with 31 points.
In his post-match comments, the Angolan striker promised to deliver goals for the nine times league champions.
“I am here to help the team stabilize by scoring goals. I am particularly happy that I have been able to contribute a goal to a big team like ZESCO United. I am also pleased by the way I have been received by everyone here,” Miguel said.
The ZESCO United striker hopes to replicate his exploits in the Nation Division One where he scored 13 goals in the first phase of the league.
“I scored 13 goals for Trident. I am very much aware that this is a very different place and wont promise too much. However, I will work very hard to help the team succeed by scoring goals.
“There is definitely a big difference between the two types of leagues. In Divisional one its more physical and they don’t give you room to play. Here its less physical but one is required to think more on and off the ball.”
Miguel is the first player ZESCO United have signed since the opening of the transfer window.
ZESCO United will this Saturday be away to Chambishi in the MTN Super League week 20 fixture.
