MUMAMBA: MISSED OPPORTUNITIES COSTED US

ZESCO United Head Coach Numba Mumamba expects his charges to respond positively following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Kansanshi Dynamos in the MTN Super League Week 23 match played at Solwezi’s Independence stadium.

The league defending champions will this Saturday host Nkana at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium in a match that is expected to add more flavour to the fight for the championship.

A brace from Jesse Were spoiled ZESCO United’s recent league form which saw the champions record three consecutive victories and a draw.

Mumamba bemoaned his sides lack of clinical finishing in the game which the visitors could have put to rest in the first 45’ minutes.

“We are disappointed as technical because this is a game, we could have easily won owing to our poor finishing. Our opponents only had two opportunities and they scored.

“The players are disappointed as such it is our responsibility to keep encouraging them. They need all the support from everyone especially that we have a very crucial game coming up against Nkana.

“We will do a lot of work especially on our finishing. We need to bounce back as soon as possible,” Mumamba added.

Meanwhile, the ZESCO United gaffer was delighted with the contribution of Vincent Oburu and Collins Sikombe.

Both Oburu and Sikombe made their debut in last Saturdays loss.

“The two have done very well being the first game and we hope they continue with the same spirit.”
