Zimbabwean international midfielder, Thabani Kamusoko believes the league is still open for the defending champions to unseat Red Arrows from the summit of the table.
ZESCO United will this afternoon face Konkola Blades in the MTN Super League week 26 fixture scheduled for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.
Speaking ahead of todays encounter, Kamusoko believes ZESCO United has what it takes to win a 10th league title provided they keep the winning momentum.
“First and foremost, we have done very well in the last two games we have played. What is important is to keep the winning momentum and the winning formula. We are gunning for the title.
“There is no other round to play apart from this one. As such every game we play requires that we remain focused. This league is still open,” Kamusoko said.
The ZESCO United attacking midfielder believes the team has found the camaraderie that was missing in the first round of the season.
“I think it is our time now. I think the support we are giving each other now is what has been the biggest difference to this rise in form. We also know that we are also in touching distance of being at the helm of the league.”
Meanwhile Kamusoko says ZESCO United will not underrate Konkola Blades when the two sides clash this afternoon.
“These kinds of matches are very tricky. They are tricky because people think Konkola Blades is a small team. However, it is such games against the so-called smaller teams that can be tough.
“We respect Konkola as a team and we will ensure that we take this game like any other game we have played against the big teams. It is crucial for us to remain focused and take this game seriously.”
