ZESCO UNITED FACE LEOPARDS

MTN Super League defending champions, ZESCO United will tomorrow face Prison Leopards in a week 28 fixture scheduled for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.

ZESCO United have maintained the second position on the league table following a goalless draw against Green Eagles in a hotly contested week 27 fixture played last Thursday at Choma’s Independence stadium.

The nine times league champions are mindful of the dangers of dropping points with the league title race not yet decided.

League leaders, Red Arrows have opened an eight-point gap between themselves and second placed ZESCO United who have 48 points with a game in hand.

ZESCO United will be hoping to reduce the gap to five and create some breathing space between themselves and third placed Green Eagles by beating Prison Leopards in Wednesday’s game.

Coach Numba Mumamba may retain some of the same faces that the kept Green Eagles at bay in Choma.

Ian Otieno is likely to retain his position between the posts deputized by the Gregory Sanjase.

Samson Mkandawire, Fackson Kapumbu, Solomon Sakala, and Clement Mwape will be expected to provide a solid wall at the back.

Donashano Malama may be retained to execute defensive cover and stability at the back of the attacking midfielders.

Collins Sikombe, Chanda Mukuka and John Chingandu will be tasked to bring creativity in the middle of the park and provide excellent balls to the front two.

Veteran striker, Winston Kalengo may be asked to lead the line deputized by young Enock Sakala.
