ZESCO United have been in fine form in the last six games they have played in the MTN Super League.
With only four games to play before the league ends, the defending champions have won four games, drawn two, reducing the gap at the top of the table from seven to five.
In the last two matches, ZESCO United have been ruthlessly exciting to watch with the former dispatching two of their local rivals with surgical beauty.
Forest Rangers were swept aside in a 0-1 victory while Buildcon received their share of beatings with a 2-1 loss.
Kenyan International goalkeeper Ian Otieno has been the biggest difference all season owing to his great reflexes between the sticks.
Otieno once again proved valuable in the 68’ minute of Saturdays game when he came off his line to stop Lukwesa from getting an equalizer for Buildcon.
That piece of action and that heroic save from Otieno left him badly injured resulting into the Kenyan being stretchered off the pitch and later taken to the hospital to receive further medical attention.
ZESCO United Head Coach Numba Mumamba confirmed the development in his post-match comments.
“I can confirm that Otieno dislocated his shoulder and was quickly taken to the hospital for further medical attention.”
And ZESCO United Team Doctor Stephen Mbewe says Otieno will be out for at least 2 weeks.
“Otieno has made some good progress following Saturday’s injury. He is feeling much better. However, he will need at least two weeks to fully recover from this injury.”
ZESCO United’s next fixture will see the league defending champions face Power Dynamos at the Arthur Davies Stadium, in Kitwe on Sunday.
