The battle for the 2021/2022 Zambian Super League title looks set to be decided on the last day of the campaign provided ZESCO United doesn’t drop any points and Red Arrows slipup.
Red Arrows currently lead the league table with 60 points whilst ZESCO United occupy second position with 65 points with only 4 games remaining to the close of the campaign.
ZESCO United face Power Dynamos at Arthur Davies stadium on Sunday in what is expected to be a do-or-die fixture for the league defending champions.
Enock Sakala believes the title race is still alive if the champions sustain their recent winning formula.
“The league is not yet over. We have four more games to play starting with Sunday’s game against Power Dynamos. It is only over when it’s over. This what I can tell our fans.”
Sakala who has missed most of the games in the league owing to injuries has so far scored 4 goals, 1 in Absa and 3 in the league.
“ZESCO United is a big team in Africa and has a huge fan base locally. It is a good thing for me as a young striker to keep scoring goals for the them. It gives me enough confidence moving forward and hoping for the best because better is not enough.
“Getting the goals in the last games we have played has given me enough confidence and good game time. When you are playing there is always a chance that you will score.
“I didn’t start the season on a good note and later picked up an injury which was a minor setback. But have had to pick myself up, worked very hard in training. This is the more reason the coach has given me the opportunity to play.”
ZESCO United will be away to Power Dynamos in the MTN Super League week 31 fixture to be staged at the Arthur Davies Stadium.
