MATCH PREVIEW: ZESCO UNITED LOOK TO CHAMBISHI AS DEFENDING CHAMPIONS DATE NKWAZI

One of the things that makes the English Premier League arguably the most followed, competitive, and exciting competitions on the planet is the tournaments ability to spring out dramatic surprises when you least expect.

Remember Sergio Aguero’s stoppage time goal that saw Manchester City beat relegation threatened Queens Park Rangers 3-2 in dramatic fashion to grant the Citizens their first Premier League title since the 1967-1968 season?

Arguero’s goal didn’t only shut QPR’s dreams of playing top flight football the following season but also ensured that Manchester United were denied a 13th league crown by their rivals.

The Zambian MTN Super League may not command billions of dollars, a chain of mega sponsors or millions of followers across the globe. However, it has on many occasions proved to be one of the continent’s most exciting and competitive competitions.

Like the English league, it isn’t short of dramatic endings that can leave many at the edge of their seats.

With two games to go before the close of the 2021/2022 league campaign, football fans in Zambia are still uncertain about a possible winner.

League defending champions ZESCO United are still entertaining the thought of a 10th league triumph despite trailing league leaders Red Arrows with five points.

Red Arrows have been unrelenting in their pursuit of a first league triumph although even they seem not sure if Sunday will be that special day.

ZESCO United tomorrow faces relegation threatened, Nkwazi Football Club while Red Arrows will be hoping to beat Chambishi at Nkoloma stadium.

Many ZESCO United fans will be drumming up support for Chambishi and hope they do better than QPR in stopping Red Arrows.

ZESCO United Head coach Numba Mumamba has cautioned his charges to focus on beating Nkwazi and not pay attention to proceedings at Nkoloma stadium.

The ZESCO United gaffer is aware of the tension, pressure and panic at Edwin Mboela stadium with the possibility of the hosts playing in the lower tier of the Zambian game next season.

A win for ZESCO United will mean that the Ndola based league giants would have more or less secured a place in CAF competitions for next season.

ZESCO United will go into tomorrows MTN Super League week 33 fixture against Nkwazi with 59 points while Red Arrows face Chambishi having amassed 64 points.
