ZESCO United Head Coach Numba is elated to have finished the league with a victory against Zambian Super League giants Zanaco.
The Ndola based league giants beat Zanaco 1-0 courtesy of Adrian Chama’s goal ending their league campaign in second position.
“A very good result and a good game for both teams. I think we accounted for ourselves very well and created numerous scoring chances. I am happy we have finished the league on high despite failing to defend the title.
Mumamba disclosed that the technical benches focus is to prepare for the upcoming season.
“Preparations for next season starts now. We want to reinforce our squad as we prepare for both local and CAF. The team we have assembled is better than what we had last season despite failing to defend the title.
“The most important thing for us is to try and reinforce our striking force. We have not performed well in this department. 2 to 3 players in this position will be helpful as we prepare for CAF.”
The 2021/2022 Zambian football season came to an end on Sunday with Red Arrows winning their second league title whilst last seasons winners, ZESCO United finished second.
