ZESCO United Football Club Team Ya Ziko
ZESCO United Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of former Lusaka Dynamos attacking midfielder, Chipyoka Songa on a 4-year contract subject to completing medicals.
Songa 18, is an exciting attacking midfielder seen as a future star player for the nine-times Zambian Super League Champions.
A product of Shamuel Soccer Academy, Songa has quickly blossomed into the game earning himself a two-year loan move to Lusaka Dynamos which ended last season.
The former Zambia U-17 player is relishing the prospects of becoming a star player at ZESCO United.
“I feel very excited and happy because this is a great achievement. Everyone knows that ZESCO United is a big club in Africa. I am very much excited,” Songa said.
Like many players who have had the privilege to don ZESCO United colours, Songa is vastly aware of the responsibility that comes with playing for the Ndola based league giants.
“I will try to gather everything that I learnt from Lusaka Dynamos. They gave me a good platform to showcase my skills. As such everything that I have learnt I will use to build on what I will learn here.
There will always be pressure in football. I just need to push myself and of course rely on the support from the senior players. It is not easy but am looking forward to the experience.”
Songa is further motivated by the presence of young players at ZESCO United.” There is Enock, Luwawa and the rest. They are my friends from the national team. I have a great opportunity to compete with them. I have seen what they have done and matured in football.”
