BANDA TIPS CHIBWE TO SUCCEED

Former Zambia National Team and ZESCO United goalkeeper, Jacob Banda expects newly signed club goalkeeper, Cyril Mwenya Chibwe to succeed following his move from South Africa to Zambia.

Chibwe 28, has joined ZESCO United on a two-year deal after his contract at Baroka FC expired.

The former Polokwane City shot stopper is expected to play a crucial role in ZESCO United’s quest to retain to the summit of the Zambian game.

Meanwhile ZESCO United goalkeeper trainer, Jacob Banda has no doubt Chibwe will excel in the Zambian league.

“Firstly, this is an important move for the club because Chibwe will create a lot of competition between the sticks. I think he will acclimatize very easily to the conditions here because he is an international goalkeeper with massive exposure.”

The ZESCO United legendary goalkeeper expects headaches when selecting the first-choice goalkeeper.

“It will be difficult to choose the best because they are all great goalkeepers. It will be a challenge to pick who starts. It will depend on who is fit and in perfect shape to start any game.

“We have three fantastic goalkeepers here who will be looking for game time. I think they will all get a chance to play,” Banda said.
