ZESCO UNITED, RED ARROWS ANNOUNCE FOUR CLUB TOURNAMENT

(Sunday, 24^th July 2022)– ZESCO United and Red Arrows have joined hands in organizing a Four-Club tournament scheduled for Lusaka next week.

The four-club tournament which will be played between July 29, 2022 and August 1, 2022 will consist of Red Arrows, ZESCO United, Green Eagles and Zanaco Football Club.

Announcing the development, ZESCO United Chief Executive Officer, Charles Kalala says the tournament is an important initiative which will benefit all the participating teams ahead of the 2022/23 football season which kicks-off next month.

“This is a very important tournament for all the stakeholders involved. The season ahead will be very competitive especially for ZESCO United and Red Arrows with both teams being the country’s envoys in the CAF Confederation Cup and Champions League respectively.

“The Zambian Super League is another competitive competition which every team will want to win. As such this tournament provides the best platform for teams to assess themselves in readiness for the upcoming football season.

“I wish to thank management at Red Arrows for coming on board and committing to ensuring that this tournament is a success,” Kalala said.

And Red Arrows Chief Executive Officer LT. Col. Bruce Milunga say the tournament is part of the club’s pre-season preparations.

“The four-club tournament is huge pre-season preparation for both Red Arrows and ZESCO United Football Club as they engage in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.

“It will give both teams some gauge of fitness and real game assimilations when we return to action in the league too. I wish to encourage our fans to turn-up in numbers and cheer their teams in this four-day tournament.”
