ZESCO United Head Coach Mumamba Numba has declared Kenyan prolific striker, Vincent Oburu fit for tomorrow’s CAF Confederations Cup match against South African side Royal AM to be staged at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
In his pre-match comments Numba expects Oburu to lead ZESCO United’s frontline as they host hopes to qualify to the third round of the qualifiers.
“I can confirm that Oburu is 70 percent ready for this game. I think his presence will add more firepower upfront. He is one of the strikers that are technically good in front of goal. We left training with the junior coaches when we were out in South Africa.
Numba expects his side to be battle ready for tomorrows encounter against the South Africa side.
“The team is shaping up very well and the moral in camp is very high. We are looking forward to this game because it is a very important match for us. We played very well in South Africa unfortunately we couldn’t get the goals. We have worked on mistakes especially in front of goal. I am positive we will get the results.
The ZESCO United has ruled out Jack Ngulube who has succumbed to a bout of Malaria while Songa Chipyoka is currently with the U-20 National Team in Eswatin.
“We have made tow changes. As you know Songa Chipyoka rejoined the U-20 National Team after playing for us on Sunday. Ngulube is out of the game due to an illness. Fackson Kapumbu will provide cover in that position.
Meanwhile ZESCO United defensive midfielder, Donashano Malama believes the team has what it takes to win tomorrow’s game.
“We have a team with the quality to get the correct results tomorrow. We all know what is at stake and what we need to do,” he said.
