UNITED AIM TO CLOSE GAP AT THE TOP

Zambian super league side ZESCO United will be aiming to improve on its current league form which has left them languishing in ninth position after ten games with fourteen points.

It has been a rollercoaster period for the nine times league champions who have only managed to win once from the last four games.

Acting club head coach Alfred Lupiya has been at the helm of changing the club’s fortunes since the departure of Mumamba Numba.

Lupiya who was put in the driving seat after Numba’s exit immediately engineered ZESCO United’s 3-1 victory over Kansanshi Dynamos, before suffering his first defeat at the hands of Napsa Stars.

ZESCO United went on to draw 1-1 at home against FC MUZA before managing to leave Kabwe with a barren draw against a struggling Magnificent Kabwe Warriors side.

Lupiya’s side sits below Power Dynamos, Prison Leopards, Forest Rangers, Green Eagles, Napsa Stars, FC MUZA and Green Buffaloes.

ZESCO United will at least need four consecutive wins to stabilize the ship or hope that teams above them don’t sustain their performances.

Red Arrows top the chat with twenty-one points while second placed Power Dynamos have nineteen points.

The Ndola based league outfit will need to start climbing the ladder by first beating Buildcon in Saturdays mouthwatering clash scheduled for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola before facing Zanaco in another blockbuster fixture to be played at Sunset stadium in Lusaka.
