ZESCO United acting Head Coach Alfred Lupiya expects a tough game when his side face-off against Buildcon in tomorrow’s MTN Super League week eleven encounter scheduled for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.
Lupiya has so far overseen four competitive league matches since the departure of Mumamba Numba who parted way with the club last month.
From the four games he has overseen, Lupiya has guided ZESCO United to a single victory, two draws, and one defeat.
The former ZESCO Malaiti Rangers head coach will be eager to collect maximum points when ZESCO United come up against their town rivals, Buildcon.
Lupiya however expects a tough match when the two Ndola based sides meet tomorrow.
“We have been preparing very adequately. This will be a very tough game and I think out of the games we have so far played, this is likely to be the toughest. I have also told the guys that this will be a critical game in the sense that we use the same pitch and it’s a local derby,” Lupiya said.
Lupiya praised his players attitude in training ahead tomorrows mouthwatering encounter.
“The boys are working very hard in training and they are looking sharp. My focus is to make sure that the team is back to where it’s supposed to be. We will do everything possible to collect maximum points. We will use all the missiles available to secure the three points.
And Lupiya is elated by the performance of South African born, ZESCO United goalkeeper Cyril Chibwe.
“I am delighted for him because it is not easy to play in a game of that quality especially for a player of who hasn’t played for the team since his arrival. It was wonderful to see him collect the Man of the match. It is not easy for any player.
Meanwhile Lupiya has completely ruled out Kenyan prolific striker Vincent Oburu from playing any role in tomorrow’s game.
“Vincent is a very important player to this football club. We are devastated that he won’t play because of an injury. I think we need to give him a lot of room to recover from this injury. He needs a lot of rest. I think we have a lot of ammunition in the team which can help us win games.”
