ZESCO United acting Head Coach Alfred Lupiya has urged his side to rise to the occasion when the nine-times league champions face Green Buffaloes in a midweek MTN Super League week thirteen fixture scheduled for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.
Lupiya’s charges put up a classy performance against Zanaco despite losing 1-0 to the Bankers.
“I think we played very well despite conceding an early goal. We need to defend better as a team especially that we have talked about this before. We lacked concentration and got punished for that. The boys are disappointed especially after dominating the hosts throughout the 90’ minutes,” he said.
A supreme performance from the visitors could not materialize into a goal after going down to a Tshite Mweshi early goal.
“We are finding it hard to break teams in our final third. We dominated the game from start to finish but our finishing was not good enough to get us a goal. We will continue working on this and encouraging our boys.”
Meanwhile the ZESCO United gaffer expects his side to focus on the midweek fixture against Green Buffaloes.
“This game is behind us. Our focus now is on the next game against Green Buffaloes. It is a big game for us and a must win.”
