UNITED DETERMINED TO RECOVER AHEAD OF CHAMBISHI ENCOUNTER

It has been a week of gloom and doom for ZESCO United after losing two consecutive league matches in a space of five days.

A 1-0 defeat to Zanaco was followed by a rare 1-3 downfall at the hands of the Army sponsored Green Buffaloes side.

These are not the kind of results acting head coach Alfred Lupiya could have envisaged going into tomorrow’s MTN Super League week fourteen tricky away tie against Chambishi.

Chambishi on the other hand have in recent weeks turned out to be the giant killers of the league thus far after beating Green Eagles 2-0 before stunning Napsa Stars 2-1 with both results coming on the road.

Lupiya has had a busy two days of trying to raise the spirits and morale of his players ahead of what many will see as a do-or-die game.

ZESCO United have labored to keep a clean sheet in the last three league encounters they have thus far played.

The Ndola based league giants conceded two goals in their last 3-2 victory against Buildcon while Zanaco took only 54’ seconds to breach the United walls in last Saturdays 1-0 defeat.

ZESCO United’s wobbly defense was yet again found wanting by an athletic Green Buffaloes side which struck twice in a space of 18 minutes.

Lupiya’s biggest task will be to revive the fortunes of a club that for over a decade has only known success.
