NO BREAK FOR UNITED AS LWANDAMINA DRILLS SIDE AHEAD OF CRUCIAL SECOND HALF LEAGUE CAMPAIGN

It’s almost two-weeks since the Zambian Super League went on recess after an entertaining first round of seventeen league matches.

While some teams have already given their players some window to rest after a vivacious first half of the season, ZESCO United players have remained grounded at the club’s trade fair grounds after a disappointing start to the league campaign.

ZESCO United ended the first round of the season on 12th position three places above the drop zone, missing out on this seasons Absa Cup competition.

United’s wobbly start to the season has triggered a sea of changes at the club with George Lwandamina appointed head coach, while former Zambia National Team gaffer, Honour Janza has been given the role of Technical Director.

Club management is not leaving any stone unturned ahead of what will perhaps be a make-or-break campaign for a side gunning for a place in continental football and the league title.

With Lwandamina now fully at the wheels after witnessing ZESCO United’s barren draw against Forest Rangers on the sidelines, there will be no room for error in the second round.

ZESCO United have not broken camp since the Ndola derby played on December 10, 2022 with the team expected to continue with preparations until the resumption of the league on January 7 when the Ndola based outfit face Prison Leopards.

Lwandamina is expected to use the three weeks break to rouse the team’s morale ahead of a very busy calendar.
