ZESCO United Football Club Team Ya Ziko
Zambian Super League giants ZESCO United have officially launched their long awaited 2022/23 official kit at a media briefing held this morning at Protea Hotel Ndola.
The official kit launch which was organized by Atlasmara Bank in partnership with ZESCO United was attended by Government dignitaries, FAZ officials, and ZESCO Limited management staff.
And Speaking on behalf of Copperbelt Provincial Minister Elisha Matambo, Ndola District Commissioner, Joseph Phiri has lauded Atlasmara Bank and ZESCO Limited for their unwavering support towards the development of Zambian football.
“Government is happy that Atlasmara Bank has sustained its shirt sponsorship deal with ZESCO United with the recent contract unlocking a whopping 2.2 million Kwacha to the club. We are also greatly aware that ZESCO United’s success over the years has been a result of the dedicated sponsorship from the club’s parent company ZESCO Limited.
“It gives us great joy to see Atlasmara Bank and ZESCO Limited partnering in lifting the fortunes of this great football Club,” Phiri said.
AtlasMara Bank has for the last five years been the club’s shirt sponsor with the recent one-year deal secured at 2.2million Kwacha.
Bank Acting Chief Executive Officer, Bobbline Cheembela said:” our strategic partnership with ZESCO United Football Club dates to January 2018, when we first signed a two-year Kit sponsorship deal worth K1.7 million. Today we are pleased to announce the extension of this partnership for another season for yet another kit sponsorship deal worth K2.2m. As Atlas Mara Bank we are proud to be associated with a football club that has dominated the Zambian football scene in the recent past. The success on the pitch in a kit with Atlas Mara splashed on the front has had a positive impact on the Atlas Mara brand and for this we are grateful.”
Meanwhile Speaking on behalf of ZESCO Limited Management, company Deputy Director Distribution and Commercial, Boyd Mwakayanga says the unveiling of the new kit will arm the club financially and commercially.
“This gesture from AtlasMara Bank will not only help the team technically but will also provide us with a great revenue stream which we will use to increase our financial base through the sale of replica jerseys to our strategic partners.”
Meanwhile Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Executive Member, Kephas Katongo, has commended ZESCO United for embracing innovative ways of making the clubs brand available.
“ZESCO United has been a leader in many aspects of football management. The club was among the first pioneers of club licensing and has remained one of the truest innovators in the game. It is not by accident that we are meeting today to witness the launch of the new kit which has become one of the highlights of our game,” he said.
