ZESCO Limited Deputy Director Distribution and Commercial Northern region, Boyd Mwakayanga has lauded Atlasmara Bank K2.2 million shirt sponsorship deal with ZESCO United Football Club.
Speaking at the official launch of the ZESCO United 2022/23 Kit held on Friday last week at Protea Hotel in Ndola, Mwakayanga said the club had been a beneficially of AtlasMara Bank’s sound technical and financial support for the last five years.
“It is important to highlight that ZESCO United has been a beneficially of the banks goodwill policy towards the development of the Zambian game. Five years ago, Atlasmara assumed the role of official shirt sponsor-a commitment that has yielded both financial and technical benefits,” Mwakayanga said.
And Mwakayanga added that ZESCO United remains a critical brand of ZESCO Limited.
“I wish to yet again state that ZESCO United Football Club is a very important brand to the operations of our parent company and sponsor ZESCO Limited. The success of the company is also mirrored through the achievements of this football club as it continues to be a crucial strategic link between ourselves and the communities who utilize our electricity.”
AtlasMara Bank has for the last five years been the club’s shirt sponsor with the recent one-year deal secured at K2.2million.
Bank Acting Chief Executive Officer, Bobbline Cheembela said:” our strategic partnership with ZESCO United Football Club dates to January 2018, when we first signed a two-year Kit sponsorship deal worth K1.7 million. Today we are pleased to announce the extension of this partnership for another season for yet another kit sponsorship deal worth K2.2m. As Atlas Mara Bank we are proud to be associated with a football club that has dominated the Zambian football scene in the recent past. The success on the pitch in a kit with Atlas Mara splashed on the front has had a positive impact on the Atlas Mara brand and for this we are grateful.”
And Government has extoled Atlasmara Bank and ZESCO Limited’s commitment towards the development of Zambian football.
Speaking on behalf of Copperbelt Province Minister Elisha Matambo, Ndola District Commissioner, Joseph Phiri said: “We are happy that Atlasmara Bank has sustained its shirt sponsorship deal with ZESCO United with the recent contract unlocking a whopping K2.2 million to the club. We are also greatly aware that ZESCO United’s success over the years has been a result of the dedicated sponsorship from the club’s parent company ZESCO Limited.”
