ZESCO United will tomorrow face Lumwana Radiants in the MTN Super League 21 fixture scheduled for Lumwana stadium, Solwezi.
Lumwana Radiants are currently swimming in troubled waters sitting three places above bottom placed Buildcon.
United on the other hand will be fighting to break the ceiling into the top six after recording two draws, and a victory in their last three games.
Arguably not the start to the second round of fixtures that ZESCO United Head Coach George Lwandamina would have wanted but he will be slightly happy with the progress that seem to be unfolding in his camp.
In the last three games played so far, ZESCO United have only conceded once, an improvement from the first half of the campaign which saw the Ndola based league outfit fail to contain the leakages at the back.
The addition of Nigerian central defender Denis Nya has brought stability at the back and pumped a lot of confidence into the squad.
Unlike Nya, Wasiu Jimoh’s progress has been hampered by an injury suffered in his second league match against Red Arrows. Although he has started light training, Jimoh has not made the long journey to Solwezi.
ZESCO United will further go into tomorrows match without the services of Kenyan international shot stopper, Ian Otieno who sustained an injury in training a week ago.
There is some good news in Lwandamina’s goalkeeping department with the return of South African born, Zambian international shot stopper, Cyril Chibwe who has been on the sidelines for a while after suffering a knee injury.
With Otieno completely ruled out, Chibwe will deputise former Young Green Eagles goalkeeper, Gregory Sanjase.
Meanwhile ZESCO United fans will be salivating to get a glimpse of former Kaizer Chiefs winger Lazarus Kambole when TeamYaziko face Lumwana Radiants.
One-week ago, ZESCO United announced the return of Kambole after the wizardly winger clinched a six-months loan move from Tanzanian giants Young Africans.
Like TeamYaziko fans, Kambole will be yearning to play a significant role in bringing the glory days back to Ndola after being included in the squad that has travelled to Solwezi.
