SIKAONGA JOINS FOREST RANGERS

ZESCO United defensive midfielder, Samuel Sikaonga has joined Forest Rangers on a one-year loan move.

Sikaonga’s move is intended to accord the former ZESCO United U-20 player more game time and experience.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder was among the few young players who graduated to the main team in 2019 under the tutelage of current head coach George Lwandamina.

However, Sikaonga could not find a place in Lwandamina’s squad at a time when experience was more pronounced. His dream would eventually come true under the reins of former club coach Mumamba Numba.

Sikaonga’s debut would come in the 2020/21 league season during ZESCO United’s opening 1-1 draw against a formidable Napsa Stars side.

He would go on to play in three consecutive league fixtures which saw United lose 0-1 to Forest Rangers before beating Lumwana Radiants 0-1.

It was a season to remember for the young star who went won to bag his first Zambian league title with the Ndola based league side.
