UNITED AIM TO TAME EAGLES

Zambian Super League giants ZESCO United will tomorrow face Green Eagles in the MTN Super League week 22 fixture scheduled for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.

ZESCO United scorecard under Head Coach George Lwandamina currently reads: Four games, one win, three draws.

Lwandamina who joined the ninetimes league champions almost a month ago has been silently plotting how to overturn the clubs waning fortunes.

Last month ZESCO United secured the services of Lazarous Kambole on a short-term loan contract from Tanzania giants, Young Africans.

Kambole, a product of Lwandamina’s school of philosophy didn’t take long to repay his god father by scoring on his debut ZESCO United’s only goal in last Saturdays 1-1 draw against Lumwana Radiants.

The veteran gaffer’s appetite to build solid sides anchored on discipline and experience has led to the capture of Chipolopolo, 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winning defensive midfielder, Nathan Sinkala from South African side Stellenbosch on a one-and-half-year contract.

Lwandamina’s backline has also been solidified by Denis Nya, who has proved a hard rock to crack since making a move from Nigerian Premier side Akwa United.

Eswatini national team captain and defender Lindo Mkhonta and former OC Bukavu Dawa striker, Moise Kanda Lola are the latest names to arrive at United.

The January transfer window closes with ZESCO United being one of the busiest sides in the market.

Lwandamina has spent the week detailing to his squad the best ingredients that metamorphosizes an underperforming team into champions.

To beat Green Eagles, ZESCO United will need to turn the same amount of energy they have exhibited in defense into attack.

A win against the Choma based league side is expected to raise confidence into the side which face Power Dynamos, Napsa Stars, MUZA FC and Kansanshi Dynamos in the weeks to come.
