Eight-times FAZ/MTN Super League champions, ZESCO United will tomorrow take on Lumwana Radiants in their week three fixture scheduled for Solwezi’s independence stadium.
The Ndola based side will be desperate to record a win having recorded one point from a possible six following their recent defeat to Forest Rangers and a 1-all draw against Napsa Stars.
ZESCO United head coach Numba Mumamba, has challenged his players to respond positively after losing to their biggest town rivals on Wednesday.
Mumamba may be forced to make some changes to the squad that started both against Napsa and Forest Rangers.
However, he will be missing the services of diminutive and creative midfielder, Tafadzwa Rusike who has been recovering from an injury. The latter has missed two of the opening fixtures.
The gaffer will perhaps be tempted to start Thabani Kamusoko who has made good progress since sustaining a bad leg injury that kept him out of the game for more than 10 months.
Winstone Kalengo will be expected to lead the front line supported by either Jesse Were or John Makwata.
There will arguably be a battle of brothers in terms of who marshals the midfield between Logic Ching’andu and John Ching’andu.
Young Samuel Sikaonga will be salivating for another 90’ minutes of action having played in ZESCO United’s opening two games.
Both Bruce Musakanya and Kelvin Kampamba will be expected to provide firepower to the front two with creative and defence splitting passes.
In defense, ZESCO United will be depending on the services of Mwila Phiri, Adrian Chama, Simone Silwimba and Clement Mwape.
Last season ZESCO United left Lumwana empty handed after a scoreless draw. The Ndola based outfit will be hoping to change the narrative this times around.
