It was all smiles on Sunday for ZESCO United players, technical bench and members of the club’s secretariat when Nkana Football Club succumbed to a 1-2 defeat at the hands of their rivals.
Thabani Kamusoko and Winstone Kalengo were both on the scoresheet for the Ndola based league giants.
Kamusoko scored his first league goal since returning from a lengthy injury that cut short his start to life at the club since signing from Tanzanian giants, Young Africans.
“It feels great to be back and to score in this game. It hasn’t been easy for me especially that I had some personal targets when I joined the club. I am grateful to my family the technical bench, management and fans for their support throughout my recovery period.”
Kalengo on the other hand was looking for his first goal of the 2020/2021 league season after going through a frustrating goal drought.

Mumamba emphasised on the need for consistency from his players when the 8 times league giants face the Police sponsored side.
The ZESCO United gaffer will be the most excited person if his charges could record 6 points in a space of 4 days against relegation threatened Nkwazi side.
Mumamba has summoned the same eighteen players that travelled to Kitwe to face Nkana.

The club may have lost 4 of its key players, the atmosphere in camp is as positive as ever.
“The spirit is very high in camp. We are not just playing for ourselves but also for our friends who have been called to the national team for the CHAN tournament. We are one because we are in touch with them and we continue to encourage each other,” Kamusoko said.
ZESCO United will be facing a Nkwazi side that will be hoping for a decent result considering their precarious position on the log table.
The Lusaka based side sit in fifteenth position with thirteen points having played Eleven games thus far.
Unfortunately for the visitors, they will be facing a ZESCO United side that is determined to leapfrog Prison Leopards at the summit of the table.
