Zambian Super League leaders, ZESCO United will this coming Sunday host Zanaco Football Club in a week 22 FAZ/MTN fixture scheduled for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.
According to a communique from the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), the eight times league champions will entertain the league’s second placed Zanaco in what promises to be an exciting encounter for two sides who have been on each other’s necks since the start of the season.
Former Zanaco and now ZESCO United coach Numba Mumamba, will be looking forward to this fixture after having lost 3-1 to the visitors on his first return to Sunset stadium after the two parties separated.
ZESCO United have a big opportunity to stretch the lead at the top of the league table to seven points provided they defeat Chris Kaunda’s led side.
The Ndola based league giants will take to the field on Sunday after a two-weeks long break which was caused by the Cameroon 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series which concludes today.
ZESCO United have in the last month recorded some impressive victories bagging fifteen points from five league games.
Mumamba’s side have now won six games continuously with the recent victory coming in the Absa cup competition against Kansanshi Dynamos.
ZESCO United will host Zanaco having played 20 games, amassing 40pionts in the process while the visitors have played 20 games and currently have 36points.
