ZESCO United coach, Numba Mumamba has charged that ‘Super Sunday’s’ FAZ/MTN Super League week 22 clash between his side and Zanaco Football Club may have a huge implication on who wins the 2020/2021 league title.
The eight times Zambian Super League champions, ZESCO United will face-off with the Bankers in what promises to be a mouthwatering encounter between the league leaders and second placed Zanaco.
Mumamba who last guided Zanaco to their last league title in 2016 and later helped them to the Absa Cup championship in 2017 will be hoping to ensure that he keeps the visitors 5-year title drought intact.
The ZESCO United gaffer has appealed to his players to sustain their winning run which has seen them win five league games uninterruptedly.
“This is a very important game to us and I expect everyone to give their level best. Currently we are four points ahead of Zanaco and victory on Sunday will mean we stretch the lead to Seven. Such a result will give us a better chance to win the league,” he said.
Mumamba expects his players to command proceedings from the first to the last whistle of the game.
“We have to be on top of the game right from the start. We need to win this game because it will give us an advantage in terms of winning the title. It will put us in better position to win the title. Everyone will need to give their level best.”
Zimbabwean veteran Midfielder, Thabani Kamusoko expects everyone to be charged when ZESCO United host Zanaco.
Kamusoko who helped his country qualify for the delayed 2021 Cameroon Africa Cup of Nations at the expense of the Chipolopolo Boys, says the team is upbeat ahead of Sundays game.
“It is not an easy game but we know that we have to win the game because our target is to win the title and qualify for CAF Champions League. We need to keep pushing hard and remain focused, he said.
League leaders, ZESCO United will this Sunday face Zanaco Football Club in a game that promises to be a mouthwatering fixture for two sides who are gunning for both the league title and a place in the CAF Champions League.
