LEAGUE TITLE IN TOUCHING DISTANCE AS ZESCO UNITED MEET PRISONS

ZESCO United only need to win the next two games to be crowned 2020/2021 FAZ/MTN Super league champions.

Zanaco’s title ambitions were dealt a huge blow following today’s 0-4 defeat at the hands of Ndola based league side Buildcon Football Club.

This means that ZESCO United only need to beat Prison Leopards and Kitwe United for the victory parties to be officially launched in the beautiful city of Ndola.

ZESCO United currently have 58 points having played 28 games while second placed Zanaco have 50 points having played 30 games.

Tomorrow, the former league champions face Prison Leopards at the Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu stadium in the second match of the day.

The Ndola based league giants opted to camp in Lusaka after grabbing a crucial away victory against Lusaka Dynamos in an encounter played at Nkoloma stadium, Lusaka.

ZESCO United who arrived in Kabwe today in readiness for tomorrow’s encounter will be without veteran striker, Winstone Kalengo and exciting attacking midfielder, Mukuka Chanda.

“Mukuka chanda and Winstone Kalengo will not participate in tomorrows game after sustaining injuries in the game we played against Lusaka Dynamos on Sunday,” disclosed ZESCO United coach, Numba Mumamba.

With Zanaco put to the sword today, Mumamba’s side will be gunning for an outright win when they meet Prison Leopards.

However, Prison Leopards will also be hoping to create some distance between themselves and the drop zone by beating ZESCO United.

Prison Leopards are 13th on the league table with 38 points while 14th placed Indeni have 37 points.

The Kabwe based league side will be wary of Nkana’s recent resurgence which has seen the Wusakile Boys mount a serious race for survival by beating ZESCO United, Power Dynamos, Napsa Stars and now Red Arrows, acquiring 37 points in the process.

The race to the 2020/2021 league title and survival will be spiced up tomorrow when Prison Leopards clash host ZESCO United.
