FAZ/MTN Super League leaders, ZESCO United this afternoon host Kitwe United at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.
ZESCO United will be hoping to increase their chances of being the league champions elect by beating stubborn Kitwe United in what is expected to be an exciting fixture.
Last Wednesday ZESCO United lost 3-0 to Prison Leopards in a very controversial game played at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu stadium in Kabwe.
ZESCO United head coach will be expecting his charges to put up a spirited response following Wednesdays defeat.
“This is a very important game for us because we want to wrap up the league as soon as possible. We have an opportunity to make amends from the 3-0 defeat to Prison Leopards. We are playing a team that is already relegated which makes this game very tricky for us.”
Mumamba has cautioned his player against being complacent when the team faces the Buchi Boys.
“We have to respect our opponents because they are a team with the ability to spoil what we have built for a long time. We should take this game seriously. We have to go there with the right altitude, mindset and character of winning the game. We want to increase our chances of winning the title before the season ends.
We have to go into this game wounded. Everyone was disappointed and sad after the defeat in Kabwe. The injuries affected our game plan. We have been talking to our players to remain focused ahead of today’s fixture.”
Mumamba will be without five of his key players due to injuries: “Rusike, Malama, Otieno, Mukuka, Mususu, and Simone are injured. However, we have enough man power to handle this game. Kalengo is back to play which is a plus for us because he brings with him a lot of experience and goals.”
