It is now over 10months since Numba Mumamba was appointed ZESCO United head coach.
Mumamba was tasked to lift an ailing ZESCO United side from its doldrums following a disappointing 2019/2020 league season which saw the former league champions abdicate the league throne they had occupied for three consecutive seasons, finishing outside the top two for the first time since 2012 and further missing out on CAF Inter-Club qualification for the first time since 2013.
The former Zanaco Football Club coach is thus far having a season of his life at ZESCO United guiding the eight-times super league champions back into the CAF Champions league with only four games to go before the close of 2020/2021 league campaign.
Mumamba also guided ZESCO United to the 2021 Absa cup final despite losing to Lusaka Dynamos on penalties.
The ZESCO United gaffer further looks set to add his name into the annals of the club’s history by winning the teams ninth league title.
ZESCO United only need two points from the last four games to be crowned 2020/2021 Zambian Super League champions.
The Ndola based league giants will next week Wednesday face relegation threatened Napsa Stars in what the club’s faithfuls will be hoping seals the title for the league leaders.
